The Spiritual Dimensions of Marriage
Using the Ten Commandments as a Faith-Based Framework
for Spiritual Development within the Marriage Relationship
Instructors: Ray & Star Silverman
Overview:
This eight-week course follows the sequence of the Ten Commandments, translating spiritual principles into spiritual practices.
We especially use the insights of Emanuel Swedenborg, an eighteenth century theologian, to reveal the deeper dimensions within each commandment. These insights, together with the sequence of the ten commandments, are the framework for incorporating appropriate relationship skills which can be found in a variety of cutting edge marriage education programs.
This course is specifically designed for couples who are searching for spiritual practices that can be applied to their marriage in a way that will lead to exciting breakthroughs in understanding each other more deeply, and loving each other more tenderly.
Join us and discover how the divinely ordered sequence of the Ten Commandments can become a heavenly curriculum for entering the spiritual dimensions of marriage.
Every major religion of the world has similar ideals of love, the same goal of benefiting humanity through spiritual practice, and the same effect of making their followers into better human beings.
--The Dalai Lama
Every religion has teachings similar to the Ten Commandments, and everyone who lives according to the commandments is saved. --Emanuel Swedenborg
We are not born suddenly as some people seem to think. It is a change that comes over us as we hope and aspire and persevere in the way of the Divine Commandments. --Helen Keller
The Ten Commandments are not an arbitrary imposition of a tyrannical Lord. They are the universal moral law, valid in every time and place. They are the only true basis for the lives of individuals, societies and nations. Today, as always, they are the only future of the human family. --Pope John Paul II
